What a strange, little book! This was suggested to me as a Christmas present for a male cousin (who shall remain nameless!) Whether he reads it is another matter! If he does (and I hope he does), he will be confronted with some rather uncomfortable home truths in this brash but funny guide, and I'm sure a few other men would benefit from reading it too.
Well I cannot think of a better gift on valentines Day than this compact, witty, thought provoking and frightfully frank gem of a book by Mr Wesker.
This book should be handed out to all couples just before they embark on the life long journey of marriage.
It's full of wisdom, humorous anecdotal advice and observations that only a husband who has tried, failed and succeeded could share; and most importantly, it's aim is most certainly to help us all 'check ourselves' and aim for prevention rather than cure!
Just one of many favourite quotes for me really embodies the flavour of this novella 1)Why was I a crap husband? Because I was selfish and untrustworthy. Because I was not being a 'plus' in my wife's life, I was being a 'minus'. I had not grown and, as a result, she had not grown. We were a disappointment to one another.
